We’re still on our Annapurna trek in Nepal, which is a little too off the beaten track to access the internet. While we’re busy trekking and are off-line, we’ve put together some of our past favorite posts/locations to keep you busy.
Enjoy!
Sweden:
As Martin describes in our About Us page, he grew up in the north of Sweden. We’re talking about a place where the sun shines 24 hours a day in the midsummer and never comes up in midwinter. Sangis, his home town, sits just one hour south of the arctic circle. Yeah. As I said, the north, north of Sweden.
I’d never been to Sweden before meeting Martin. Fortunately (for many reasons) I love it there and never hesitate when given the opportunity to visit. I’ve been there in the fall and the dead of winter, but I’d never been there to celebrate midsummer. Knowing we’d have ample time on this trip to spend with his parents, we built in a slightly awkward jump from Southeast Asia to Sweden and back in June and July.
It was a jump well spent. We tried to capture all that is good about Sangis, but in review I can see that we fell short on many things. We will be returning in four months, or so, and we will try to fill in the gaps. Until then, check out the links below to some of my favorite things about the north of Sweden (by clicking on the photos):
