Unexplainable Indian Fortune Teller Experience: Check

Today, I was approached by this man: Mr Yogi Singh. His opening line was to tell me that I’m so lucky to have my wife. Since I am very much aware of that fact I decided to hear him out. He offered to tell my fortune for the modest sum of 4 US Dollars.

We sat down on a nearby park bench, and he wrote down some stuff on a note while making pained, grunting noises. He knuckled the paper into a small ball which he then gave to me for safekeeping. Then he asked me a few questions. He wanted to know my favorite color, a number and some other information. He then wrote it down on a paper, and asked me to open the knuckled paper I had in my hand.

It turned out that he already knew all the answers to what he had asked me, including some pretty personal information (the name of an ex-girlfriend from 10 years ago, not exactly readily available information), since he had already written them down on the knuckled paper.

As for the fortune telling, well, the future is looking all right. For you parents out there, Mr Singh assures us that there will be great-grandchildren in the future. Other things are about to fall in place too, and a long life awaits.

I don’t know how he did what he did, but it sure was impressive. Impressive enough that I lushed out another six dollars for some prayers, talismans and sacrifices (soap, perfume, biscuits and candles!). Can’t hurt, can it? And even if it was a hoax, it was an inexpensive, inexplicable feel-good one.

Interesting as I have just had the same expereince with Yogi Singh…but he said he was from Chandigar (another place in the Punjab) also did the same thing (number, flower and colour) and told me I worry too much, get angry too quickly and wear my heart on my sleeve…he gave me his number to call later. I met him outside the Dorchester in London. Oh and three good things are going to happen to me in July…he was very charming…but I am a strong believer of what will be will be….his number is o7940503416 for those who are interested!!

  • jhinde01

It happened to me too…in Sydney, Australia, The guy told me he was a prophet, he asked for money, i said i had none, he said that ok. I asked where i can find him, he said he’d find me…the stuff written ont he paper was my name, husbands name, dates , amazing stuff. He also told me personal stuff that was so true, he gave me dates of when things would happen…everything he said had happened…i was so in awe i didn’t or couldn’t ask more…there is no way this can be a hoax unless they have a literate monkey writing the stuff under their coats…oh and the reason he stopped me in the street is beacuse he said i had a lucky star on my forehead.

  • Ram

    Hi jhinde01,

    Thanks,

  • Anne_S

This just happened to me today (in HK). He stopped me while I was walking saying I was lucky. He kept on pointing on my birth mark between my 2 eyes. Then he started on talking about stuff, things about me, S-M-L. Told me not to cut my nails and hair on Tuesday. He asked me to sit on a bench with him where he wrote stuff on yellow notes and made one ball out of it where he wrote the color there. At the last part of it, he asked for donation. I put the HK30 on his clutch where the pictures of his gurus are, then he asked for more. I ended up giving HK80 to him. He said lastly not to tell anyone, I don’t know why. I was shaking and scared after the experience.

  • Al

I had the same experience too. But it happened in Hong Kong. I didn’t give him much, only 1 pound, since I didn’t have any change in my wallet. However, this experience is very… unexplainable.

  • AL

I had the same experience too. I think we probably met the same man.
The most interesting thing is, how can he get the right answers of our Qs?

  • yogibare
  • CCW

I met some guy in HK Admiralty (near the Citi tower). Write something down, put it into my palm, asked me some questions, and then when I open the paper ball, the answers all matched. He did told me to put the paper ball inside the circle of the paper he is writing. Not sure if he was able to switched things that quick. I was watching it closely. AL, where did you meet this guy? He is about 5’7″, slim, looks late 20s/early 30s but he told me he was 23. And he even gave me his phone number and address in India. He is from Ludhiana State, Punjab From

  • David_corell

This happened to me twice in my life but I am telling you, How did he know what only I knew and no one else on this planet? He did the same thing to me. Color, flower and number. I had the paper in my hand when i gave the answers and he was 100% correct. how? I dont know then I went to the back of my store and he told me more. Everything has happened so far and he has given me great luck with my business. It was worth it.

  • Lee

Hi David…am in Africa at the moment..is there anyway that i could get ahold of the guy that helped you?
    pls help…thanx,Lee

While he was doing his things, I almost believed him. Until he asking for more money, so he can pray for me for good things to happen. When he first met me, he said luck and fortune is going to happen to me.. that he want to tell me more. If luck is going to happen to me, why is he needs to pray for me. I gave him some money, because I thought what he did take talent.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sophal.len Sophal Len

What impressed me is how he knew my favorite flower is rose… when I never like any flower and the answer was just something I thought of at the moment.

I don’t believe in fortune tellers but this story makes me wonder if there can be a few of them with true instincts.

  • Mayrosas02

I too today was approached by a man named Yogi. I can’t explain it, he knew, knew my trials, past and present. I was so moved I couldn’t stop crying! He gave me his number in India, he is a Godsend and I now BELIEVE! Believe that there are gifted people in the world who come when you least expect it and in time of need. He has enlightened my heart an gave me hope. Sometimes believing in someone or someone believing in you is all it takes to get you through…life!

  • YEL1981

    Hi there,

Listen the same thing happened to me in San Francisco, CA. This indian guy with a turban told me that this guy was going to actually marry me and I went crazy on the guy. They did the same thing you wrote in your article. He totally destroyed my life, just carried me off track. He took way too much that he did from you. The other day, I came out of the subway in San Francisco, CA and he was there with another guy and he asked for money and he gave me the same thing you wrote. I kept calling the guy like crazy, thinking it will come true and the guy was just living his everyday life. Yeah I remember now they said they were going to see me for the third time and they did, all I heard was voices. I sort of believed them totally. I just hate it. I wish I can worn everyone about these people, they are just scams. I left the apartment in Fremont, CA. I was just somewhere in my head, god I don’t know where. I still weigh what they said till today. I wish the US would do something about these indians, actually when I met for the second time, they were like waiting for me, ???, the police confronted them and I like so stupidly defended them, I totally believed them. Maybe the US is sharing secret files with them. I should have never even thought about going to the States. Well they also talked to my friend before talking to me and they asked me to stay away from my friend, when I was approaching to see what they were telling him (of course more hocus pocus). I wish they were never there. Maybe they feed on human seeking mystery or wisdom. They are no good. Please just shove them away and call the police right away. They really fuck up lives.

  • YEL1981

It is YEL1981 again..I made a mistake (sorry I am so stupid) The third time they did NOT not did. Oh! I still regret the day I gave this indian guys with the turban my trust. I was just living in SF normally until they came and I will say it again fucked up everything. They even actually told me to not share what they told me with my friends. And I went crazy on my friend, I scared the living hell out of him. Oh well. They just drove me crazy. The policemen that day (when I so stupidly defended the indian guys) asked them to go to church. Yeah I think they belong in church. If there is anything that I can do to prevent these indian guys from destroying my life I would. But then I do not know again. I am so stupid (for having believed in them).

  • Wiseman

It’s just a scam, how stupid you people are to give him so much money?
The same happened to me in Vienna, but I expected the guy to be a scammer, he was talking bullcrap about how lucky I am and that he is a fortune teller. Then he asked me the country I am from, naturally if he is a fortune teller and a holy person he should know it so I replied “guess”. He said “hmmm guess, guess, nice ok pick your favorite fruit and write it here” hahahahaha.
Than he asked me to put 50 Euro banknote insite this leathercovered book, I said I don’t have money (wise!) he said he is not a begger but holy person, raising money for poor kids and food. So I gave him 1 Euro coin, then he turned around and walk away LOL.

BTW. It was just a trick, while you were absorbed by thinking of your biggest wish he had a time to write a number a fruit, flower (which are short phrases) on the side of his trousers or in his pockets, it’s just like 7 characters to be written and then swiitched the scrambled piece of paper, simple as that.

  • Vag3bont

This happenend to me also this weekend in Rotterdam (Netherlands) , I was pretty impressed when i saw the number i chose on the paper and i also ripped one paper into two pieces and it became one again.I gave Mr. Yogi some money and than he asked for more so he could pray for me. I told him if he really could look in the future he would know that ain’t going to happen. I paid for the surprising tricks and happy thoughts. :)

on hindsight, i think this is a scam…he asked for my profession b4 asking me to donate…why does he ask for my profession? nothing related to his “fortune telling” for me at all, he didnt talk about my work life at all, i think he asked my about my job only to guage how much to scam me and i actually fell for it >< gosh wat have i done in my moment of weakness :( letting an unknown man go with me to the atm to draw money for donation, this is ridiculous… cant believe i've been so foolish…

Peace be upon the one who follows the GUIDANCE(Quran). I am not much surprised when I have read this comment. In Quran Allah ordered the muslims not to go to any kind of fortune telling. Our beloved prophet Muhammed (PBUH) said ” who ever go to a fortuneteller or believes in him he has no relation with me or the Shariah given to me”. If you are not happy with what you have, try to be happy with what you are. Ask Allah to guide you and give you the good things in life. And he is capable to do all things. May he guide ALL MUSLIMS TO THE RIGHT PATH. and may he give you all good things in this world in the hereafter. Ameen if you want any further support on islam or any thing I can do please mail me @ stnger@aol.in

Hello I live in Philadelphia PA, I own  small business and an Indian man walked in to my store and did exacly what you have said.  He asked me for my favorite color, flower, and number.  He then wrote something on a piece of paper made it into a small ball and gave it for me to hold.  The weird thing is that he require NO PAYMENT all he wanted was for me to remember his FACE?  He made that very CLEAR……. He told me things not even my mother or anyone could NOT know….. He was talking about things that had happened in 2009-2010 and 2011, He spoke of the womans in my life and told me a lot of things about me!!!!!!!! He never asked my name, date of birth or anything of that nature…….. The information he provided was 100% on the money.  He also told me that this month, the month of April was going to be very lucky for me……. Now here is where it gets a little confusing for me.  He said that he will return and for me not to forget his face because he knew I am HORRIBLE AT REMEMBERING FACES……lol.  I shall await for his return in the near future…… Somethings in life can’t be explained and this one is one of them…..Take it seriously, I didnt at first but by the time he was done I was sold……He told me his name but I didnt pay him any mind.  I thought it was another person soliciting me for something.

    Hi

I just got approached by a Indian man in singapore when I was just walking down the street.. He told me he has been trying to find me since yesterday, and ive only just landed yesterday he then began to tell me personal things that happened in 2009.. So got quite scared.. He then did the paper thing and that just creep me out even more.. At the end he top me things that are going to happen in june and gave me a pebble… Has anybodys come true because I’ve never believed in fortune telling

  • Nesha

Hi I just had one of these Indian gentlemen in my office. The same things happened to me, the colour flower piece of paper ect Afterwards I felt funny cant excplain and my colleage also felt funny. He
also asked me not to tell anyone and to hang a old horseshoe at my front door. That he will return
in a couple of months and by then I would be rich and can give him thousands for charity? I already
gave him more than he asked for originally . I feel dupped used and its all my own fault for
    inviting him in.

  • Joan_zeng

Hi, i met him today at yishun during my working hours as im working in a fnb line. Probably u wanna share more? I gave him S$120 for what his prediction. Now im thinking whether am i being con by him???

  • 305MB

Same thing happened to me here in Miami Beach. I feel scammed and duped.

  • 305MB

To add to the story, I felt like I was under a trance and hypnotized afterward. He told me I should give him $300, no, $500. I walked right up to the ATM and did it. I feel terrible and stupid.

  • 305MB

Got my money back from this Mr. Yogi. I am convinced that he hypnotized me and possibly used scopolamine (although much less likely. Its scary to even think about this drug which can be lightly blown into someones face, look it up if you dont know what it is) in our interaction. It wasn’t normal what happened. I spoke with a hypnotist about the whole thing, its called suggestive hypnosis. He used it to disassociate my mind with my body. The whole night after it felt like someone had put their hand inside me like a puppet, completely took advantage of me, like I got raped. Literally, I can’t compare my experience with such a vile experience, but that’s the closest word I can describe it as. Dirty and disgusting.

I had realized he gave me a card with the name simply ‘Mr. Yogi world renown fortune teller’.With a New York phone number. I lured him to meet with me again by asking him to meet for another reading. I called the police on the way. Already filed a police report and just cited the case. With the police en route, I confronted Mr. Yogi and explained that he return my money or the police would be here to involve him in an investigation.  He wore the exact same clothes as the day before. After a few minutes conversation that I recorded discretely, he reluctantly gave up a few hundred, then more, and finally the rest. It looked like he had a lot more money in his purse too, I could guess over $1,000 total including the money I got back.

  • Mariannesalmans

Crazy! I just met the same guy today in Singapore and left me amazed. So much that I just decided to Google him, and there he is on the picture! Lots of stuff he was talking about was true. Must be careful for Dec 21st. Let’s see. I didn’t give him much money, my wallet was empty any way. Even if it is a scam, it was so good that it deserved money, if only for the entertainment.

  • Christine

I was approached by a similar man when in Thailand.  He was simply amazing and I will never ever forget the experience.  And yes I gave him money but to me it was worth just the experience.  First off he gave me a piece of paper folded and put it in my hand.  He asked how old I was (I thought well you should know!!!), but I told him my age, then he asked day, month and year of my birth.  After that he told me to unwrap the paper in my palm.  It read my age (51) and my date of birth.  I freaked out.  He then wrote something down on another piece of paper and folded it and put in my palm again.  He asked my favourite colour, and my lucky number.  I said burgandy (thinking it was not a normal colour) and said well its not a lucky number but favourite one (as I used to live at that number) being 41 (also not say 1-10 like most people would say).  Yep unwrapped the paper and burgandy and 41 was on it.  By this time I was shaking!!  He gave me a piece of paper with 3 things that I had to reply to 1. A wish; 2. A want and 3. A problem person in my life.  I took the paper and went away about 20 feet inside a building and wrote my answers, and like a child doing a school exam I hid my answers carefully.  I then folded the paper and placed in my palm and returned to him.  On another piece of paper he wrote exactly what was in my palm.  Unbelieveable!!  And to top it off he told me my mothers first name which is Edna (not exactly a common name).  Inbetween there was the fortune telling details as well – was it a trick??  Who knows!  Was it mind reading – no I dont think so as he wrote the answers and placed in my hand before he asked any questions.  Was he gifted – yes I do think so.

  • Amber

I had a very similar experience yesterday & was wondering if anything he predicted came to fruition?
