    Happy New Year!

2009 rolled in while we were still in San Francisco in the death throes of planning this trip – making weekly trips REI, writing lists upon lists of things we needed to do and trying to figure out how to make more money for the trip.

2010 finds us living in Nepal, eight months into our trip. We’ve either thrown away or never used most of the REI stuff, the lists have been forgotten and we’ve eaten through much of our savings account. But we’re happy – really stinking happy.

We rang in the new year in Nagarkot with Arjun (our landlord), his family and two other Nepali families. A blue moon (with partial lunar eclipse) shone overhead, a campfire roared at our feet and the night was filled with laughter. The strike of twelve was met with champagne spray and hugs.

Happy new year everyone! May you find 2010 full of happiness and adventure – as I’m sure we will.
