They were incredibly hospitable – immediately laying down a spread of smoked fish and roasted peanuts. They also insisted we finish the rice wine they brought out. Twist my rubber arm, Hmong!

At 28, they had four children. They told us we were lazy for being 30 & 35 with no children (insert an Amen! from Dad Greenamyer).

The wife also told me that I must have been a beautiful actress when I was younger.

Um…thanks?

This is what the Mui Ne fishing fleet looks like. Behind what looks like a normal boat, they tug along a train of small, round baskets with fishermen in them. When they reach their destination, the cut the baskets loose and the guys in the baskets paddle around and set their gear up. I can’t help but think that there must be an infinite number of better configurations for a boat: anything but round, really. Wait… Maybe the Vietnamese are on to something? Could this be their entry into the next America’s Cup?

This is a bottle of liquid band-aid. Today, in an epically clumsy move, I scraped the skin on my hand (I lost a balancing competition with a loose tile on the sidewalk). Still, after applying liquid band-aid, I was out riding a bike and swimming in a pool and doing stuff with no discomfort at all. I like this spray. Keep it with you always, kids!
