I've been doing a lot of this myself to get my blog ready to go and optimized before I leave for my trip in August.

You may be interested in checking out http://websitegrader.com/ to get a lot of detailed information about your site. They do a crawl over all the major factors and tell you whats good, whats bad, and what could be better. The site appears to be overloaded at the moment, but it was working a day or two ago.

You might want to check into it!

Twitter is a bit overwhelming at first but the best advice I can give you is to just do what comes naturally: follow people you find interesting and retweet articles that you find interesting. That's all there is to it!

Hi Guys,

Well you started well today by exchanging links with me :) Greg is right, the links need to be from travel related sites that relate to what you guys are doing.

Submit to blog directories as well to make sure other people...who happen to be lost and not on google...can find you.

Start tweeting, but make sure you build up a community and RT other people's posts. I am at http://twitter.com/toddwassel Follow me and I'll follow back and help RT your stuff.

Finally, look into StumbleUpon. I have just started and have not seen huge increases in traffic, but people say it eventually pays off.

Good luck! Todd

Getting backlinks is 90% of the formula for Google - but don't just get mindless links...make sure the anchor text means something / is related to your site...rather than just "click here" or your URL as the link.

Best of luck!
